Well, here we are mid 2015. It seems that the last year has gone so fast I didn't even have time to blink! My sweet baby boy is now 16 Months old! Oh, how they change so quickly!
Jaxon has had a bit of a rough start, and nothing that couldn't be chalked up to pure discomfort with lots of poking and prodding they did on the wee fella.
First, we had bad reflux which led to many wet clothes on my part...Our little guy was diagnosed with Hypospadias, which is fairly common, just not widely spoken about. He's case was mild, but would still require surgery. If you look it up you will see it is where the uritha is not in the proper spot. He's was slightly under the tip, but would still be an issue if left unrepaired.
He handled surgery like a champ which took place in December of 2014, but just being stuck in the hospital, follow up appoints etc. he had had enough. He know hates the Doctors with a passion, and we are working on making it an enjoyable experience for the future.

Here he is waiting to go into surgery...

He has also been popping teeth like a real "Chomper" (what we are calling him theses days.) He loves food, which means our grocery bill is about to double, maybe triple!!?
Then in early January, just before he was to start daycare, we got "The Flu" the real deal. I mean terrible, terrible nights. Sleeping all day, no energy to even sit up, the poor boy was just violently ill. Constant vomit and diarrhea. That latest a few weeks, but the cough persisted. So much so that the flu slowly and eventually turned into a nasty cold. Then just as things looked a little more positive for his sake, he got another virus and was vomiting again regularly. Now we are almost in May, and I have to say, maybe now we are seeing the real boy come out of his shell.
I think he has just be so under the weather for so long that he is acting sick most of the time. Yes, we have been to the Dr.s many times this year, and they have tested him for many different things, but there is no real concern at the moment, and they say it is just one illness passing and morphing into another. Starting daycare will do that, they say....

Wow! 2011 was my last login!? Heavens sake Sarah you've been busy! Time for an update in my life for the past 2 years I suppose!
Well, I suppose I should go in order, our new home purchase in 2011. Our trip in March 2012 to England, France & Italy, and of course, our whirlwind year of 2013 where we are now. There is a lot in between all of this, but I will add it as I can recall! Haha
We bought a new home in April 2011, so house number 2. It is much more beautiful, cozy and a great place to raise a family, which in three months time, there will officially be 3 of us! :)
We went to Europe in an 'Amazing Race' style, 3-4 weeks and we saw tons of sights in a short time. It was great. I know now that my husband and I make an amazing travel team! 3countries on a whim and we saw some of the most remote places. Especially in Italy.
Then in the beginning of 2013 we went to Cancun, Mexico (feb). Then in March my Best Friend and I went over to Maui for 4 days which was amazing! Can't wait to take my hubby.
April 2013-got pregnant!!! After 12 years together our families were over the moon! I will follow up on all of this, but I have to do it in bits as there is so much to write about. Time to get cRACKING!

The *A* Family
It was pleasure photographing this family! They are fun loving, free-spirited and the kids are adorable! The photo session was in Olds, and believe it or not, being from Alberta, I had never been. It is such a cute little town and I hope to get back soon to photograph the A Family again!

Carrie & Erick
I had the pleasure of photographing a Co-Workers wedding last year, and never posted any of the photos I took. So I thought I would share some of that day with you and you can see what how my very first wedding I photographed turned out......please be kind. :)
Carrie & Erick have quite the story and it is one of those "Love At First Sight Stories". She met him while on a cruise vacation and they have been inseparable ever since! I never got the chance to do an E-Session with them, but I am hoping to help them with there family Christmas card photo!
Alright, alright...
I know, it's been a very long time......such is the life of a busy lady!! I feel terrible that it's been this long since my last post, but a lot has happened in the last..mmmm...8 months! Holy, that's my last post?! 8 months ago!? Ooops!
Anyway, let me start of by saying Thank You to everyone who has supported me and wished me all the best in the last year. It was my first year as a professional photographer, and I have to say it went amazing! I have learned so much from other photographers, friends & family. I thought for a while there that this may all fall through on me. You see, I went through a "Dead Zone" "Writers Block" or as a photographer might say "Shutter lag" for a while. no calls, no work, just frustration. As a photographer, you have to be proactive in getting work, you have to be tenacious and willing to take critique, especially from other professionals. Willing to go above and beyond to get your name and work out there to be seen. That, my friends; is the business of the Art world. There are many of us all over and we each have something different to offer. Some may love my work, while others may dislike it. That is for you as a consumer to decide.
I had an "ahah" moment a while back and in doing some research on local photographers, I found that they are priced at ridiculous costs. Especially with the majority of turn-around time being so long that most people have already forgotten what the wedding looked like!
A light-bulb came on, if we could provide amazing wedding photography at a more reasonable price during these tough economic times.... maybe it would make a difference in people's lives. And that in turn would be an awesome J-O-B; getting paid to make people happy, help them out, and capture some of the most special moments in their lives!
That has become our company mission: To provide amazing photography at affordable prices!
It's that simple. That's what we are striving for.
So in that, I thought i would maybe rethink the business a little bit, and get better prices with better service to clients. So it has been a few months of craziness, and we are finally settling back into the flow of things. I actually finished a family photo session last weekend. It went GREAT! Stay posted for the teaser photos coming soon!
Again thank you to everyone for your ongoing support, and I hope to photograph all of you soon! :)

It's been too long!
Well hello world. yes, I've been neglecting my Blog lately. There has been so much going on that I haven't even had the time to think!
So we have finally settled into our new beautiful home in Airdrie. I am loving it their. It is peaceful, family oriented and everyone is a good neighbor! Here's a photo from my Antroid Phone looking at the sunset out the kitchen window!
I hope to get a basement studio up and running shortly and in the meantime I am enrolling myself into the Sait Polytechenic program for Photojournalism. I have always wanted to d this and have had to postpone it for many years as I was living the fast life with my wonderful "now" husband.
We are in our 2nd home but I have forgotten my desire to actually get my schooling done. Well it's never too late and I must say even if you are a self-taught photographer it is always best to learn constructively and within a group. Especially when it comes to the arts. Everyone has an opinion and a critique to offer.
So on top of the new house needing a little TLC, my regular 9-5 job and the Photography jobs I get here & there, I am now adding an education to it. the thing is, I live and breath photography, so to me, school is a bonus and somewhat a necessity! I know there are a lot of self-taught photographers out there who do really well for themselves. But I find that in the Arts there is always learning. You don't just stop and say you know it all. It's an always growing and learning business. Always new and innovative ideas to be had. So I tend to upkeep the knowledge with regular meetups and discussions with professionals in the field and being able to assist and learn always!
Just my thoughts for today~

Went to La Conner WA for the past week. what a beautiful little town! Very small, quaint, Northern Pacific town. Lots of fishing boats, beautiful shops and boutiques and NO franchise's. How cool is that, every store there supports a local artist and they are all privately owned. I could move there in an instant and just visit the old brick bookstore called "The Last Chapter" and read to my hearts content with a hot steamy cup o' jo'. Or settle down with a hot bowl of local Clam Chowder. this place holds a special spot in my heart for sure!
Check out some of the images of local fair. I can only hope to make it back for the Tulip season next year.

Halloween Fun!
Here are a few shots from a wonderful Halloween Mini-Session! This is my niece, and she is sometimes shy, but comes out of her shell right away when a cemera is around! Quite contrary to actaully being shy. Shes grown up around a camera lens though so she seems to enjoy when snapshots are being taken! This was Halloween 2010

Fall Session Coming to a Close!
It is with great sadness I announce the end of autumn photos. It's my favorite time of year & watching how all the leaves change and everything seems to become richer in colour, The smells, the pie's, the getting-together with family. I always enjoy this time and it always makes for incredible family photos. I am however, looking forward to winter session's and the beautiful pristine white snow! Book now for a Christmas Family Photo Session with your beautiful Christmas tree or snow capped mountains as your backdrop!
Here are a few pics from this past fall.
